The Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) is a non-profit organization based at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, in Vancouver. Established in 1969, LSLAP provides free legal advice and representation to individuals in the Lower Mainland who cannot afford legal assistance. The program is run by law students and overseen by supervising lawyers, offering services through various clinics, including drop-in sessions at locations such as the Carnegie Community Centre and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. LSLAP operates primarily in-person, with some remote options available. The organization is governed by the Greater Vancouver Law Students’ Legal Advice Society and relies on sponsors and donations to continue its operations. Services are available in Mandarin and Cantonese upon request. LSLAP does not provide legal advice over the phone, but appointments can be booked during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
